When I was younger, actually a far bit younger than now, I lived in an old run down shack of a house that I had managed to buy.

It had an open fireplace in the lounge room, and in those days, that was a very cosy place to be, in front of the fire in winter.

I loved making soups. Nothing fancy, but definitely wholesome and very nice tasting. I got the gist of soup making, basically using whatever veggies I had, with either a stock using simple stock cubes or sometimes a milk based 'Cream of' soup using milk, plain flour and perhaps some cheese.

I also had a fondness for pink champagne as my celebratory drink. Seemed I was always celebrating something.

Over that period, I had friendships with a few girls and the very exciting memories are when such a friend might visit in the early evening.

It seemed that if I had a fire going and a pot of soup on the stove, then it usually ended up a very pleasant evening and often, the night.

I really do have lovely memories of that time, and I experimented with different soups and one pot creations.

I always wanted to publish this book, and various people told me that I should. There are just a few copies floating around that were gifted to friends who enjoyed my soups. Now the time has finally arrived when I have actually put this book up for others to enjoy.

I put the book together around 1990 and it has stood the test of time for 35 years since then. This is the modern version as a 25-page PDF download.

One particular friend was a very talented artist. One evening she just sat there for a few hours by the fire and produced the pen drawings seen in this soup book.

Using her drawings, I cut and pasted up a book of my soup recipes and decided that a great name for my wonderful book would be 'Soups for Seduction' as that was often enough the outcome of such fire, soup and pink champagne evenings.

Life has moved on, and I have two lovely young daughters. To this day, I still refer to my own book and often make variations of those recipes. I have added a few newer recipes, and these are included at the end of the book. I even use my own book as a folder and keep adding more recipe sheets as I try new creations.
